@ Ham

Dzieki za to. Dobrze poznac cos bezposrednio.

Pozdrawiam

dostalem wlasnie ciekawy list od wicekanclerza:

In common with many UK institutions, Durham University is one of at least
twelve Universities which have an exposure to the Icelandic banking crisis.
?2.5m of our working cash balances are deposited with Heritable, the UK
subsidiary of an Icelandic bank operating and regulated in the UK.
Heritable went into administration on 7 October. Other major universities,
such as Cambridge, Manchester and the Open University are also affected,
some considerably more than us.

While ?2.5m is a significant sum to have at risk, it represents only around 1%
of our annual expenditure. The fact we cannot currently access these funds
will have no effect on our day-to-day operations. Staff and suppliers will
continue to be paid as normal and there will be no impact on students.
Endowment funds are unaffected.

The money was invested on fixed-term deposit in July when Heritable had an
excellent credit rating, in accordance with our policy of spreading risk
through relatively small investments in a variety of highly-rated banks.
The funds are due to be returned at the end of this month. It is important
to emphasise that the funds are not lost, but simply frozen, and we are
working closely with the bank, other affected universities and the UK
authorities to secure the safe release and return of these funds.

Czy Islandia spadła do ligi krajów 3-go świata?
