The course that is used interchangeably with “waste of time college class”, but surprisingly it actually exists, both at UC San Diego and at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. According to Wikipedia anyway. Underwater basket weaving involves making wicker baskets by dipping reeds or stalks of plants into water, and letting them soak. Full body immersion is optional I suppose.

Underwater basket weaving is an idiom referring in a negative way to supposedly easy and worthless college or university courses, and used generally to refer to a perceived decline in educational standards.[1] The term also serves as an intentionally humorous generic answer to questions about a college degree.

Philosophy and Star Trek – można z tego zrobić porządny przedmiot. Jeśli obmyslić program nauczania filozofii dla miłośników StarTreka to czemu nie? Liczysz ilu studentów na 1000 jest fanami serialu i znając wielkość populacji uczelni, wiesz jaka jest potencjalna grupa słuchaczy.

Daleki jestem od uznania tych przedmiotów za debilne. Nie wiem czego oni się tak naprawdę uczą i jaki jest cel organizacji kursu.
